Watkins Wellness® History
- 1977 – Jeff and Jon Watkins build the first Hot Spring® Spas portable spa
- 1978 – Watkins begins its history of industry firsts, such as full insulation, underwater lighting, and top-loading filters
- 1984 – Watkins introduces Moto-Massage®, the industry’s first moving jet; introduces the first hot tubs in Europe
- 1986 – Watkins joins the MASCO family of home products
- 1996 – Watkins opens first of two manufacturing plants in Tijuana, Mexico
- 1997 – Jeff Watkins retires, Steve Hammock becomes President of Watkins Manufacturing
- 1999 – Watkins acquires Caldera® Spas
- 2003 – Hot Spring Vanguard® spa named Consumers Digest Best Buy
- 2004 – Watkins receives MASCO’s Platinum Safety Award, Innovation Award for the SpaAudio music system.
- 2011 – Watkins acquires American Hydrotherapy Systems (AHS); produces its one millionth spa

- 2016 – ‘Watkins Wellness®’ becomes new name for leading manufacturer of personal improvement products
