When it comes to benefits, everyone has different needs and priorities. With this in mind, our employees have the freedom to choose a plan that best suits their needs.

All employees are enrolled in an annual bonus incentive program designed to recognize their performance and contributions toward Watkins’ achievement of company-wide objectives, as approved by our parent company, Masco.
This plan enables employees to benefit from the company’s success by receiving a share of its profits. The company’s contribution percentage may vary from year to year, based on the company’s profitability. Employees become 100% vested in the profit sharing plan contributions on the third anniversary of their hire date.
We encourage our employees to save and invest for their retirement through our 401(k) plan. In addition, the company matches 100% of the first 4% of the employee’s contribution to the plan. These matching contributions are immediately vested.
We offer multiple options health coverage options, including medical, dental, and vision plans. Watkins also offers a medical option specifically for coverage in Mexico. In addition, employees are eligible to purchase supplemental accident and critical illness coverages.
Watkins provides Paid Time Off (PTO) benefits that can be used for vacation, illness, or to celebrate an unobserved holiday each year. We strongly encourage employees to take time off each year to maintain a healthy work/life balance and to replenish themselves.
Watkins observes eight holidays during the year. Employees are eligible for holiday pay immediately after their hire date. Our current designated company-paid holidays are: New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
All salaried employees are eligible to receive benefits under the Short-Term Disability Plan. This plan allows employees to receive income on a short-term basis in the event that they become medically disabled. This is a company-paid benefit at no cost to our employees.
This plan was specially designed to provide benefits to employees when they are disabled and prevented from performing the regular duties of their job on a long-term basis. This is a company-paid benefit at no cost to our employees.
Basic life insurance is provided to employees at no cost. In addition, employees may purchase additional life insurance for themselves and their eligible dependents at competitive rates.
Watkins encourages the pursuit of continuing education. Our program provides financial assistance for eligible expenses such as tuition, books, and parking fees. Employees can apply to receive the reimbursement before or after course completion.
Watkins cares about the health and well-being of its employees. Employees are able to receive assistance and support 24/7 for personal issues and concerns such as stress/anxiety, substance abuse, personal relationships/conflicts, or grief and loss. This service is provided by the company and is completely confidential.
With an FSA, our employees can set aside own money through pre-tax deductions to pay for predictable health care or dependent care out-of-pocket expenses. Employees can save money by taking advantage of the tax savings on their pre-tax contributions.
We understand that life happens, and that there are times when our employees may need additional time off from their jobs. A Leave of Absence (LOA) may be granted for events such as: Bereavement, Jury Duty, Medical, Military, or other personal matters.
Best Doctors is a second opinion service paid for by the employer at no cost to our employees. Employees have the option to have their medical case fully reviewed by a Best Doctors medical consultant and get a detailed recommendation about diagnosis or treatment options.
Teladoc is a benefit that gives you and your covered dependents 24/7/365 access to U.S. board certified doctors who can resolve many medical issues via phone or online video. Employees have access to this resource at no or little cost to them.
Watkins helps to promote a healthy lifestyle through our award-winning wellness program with a full-time R.N on site, onsite health screening resources, Weight Watchers® meetings, a complete prenatal program, walking/jogging groups, free flu-shots, and much more. Employees earn raffle tickets by participating in a variety of wellness-related activities to be used at our semi-annual Bonanza Events to win impressive prizes!
The Way Awards allows us to recognize co-workers who exemplify excellence in our company values, the Watkins Way. Our mission is to create a culture of recognition and reward employees who live out these values and help us to “Make the Best Better”.
The Star Search program is designed to encourage employee referrals and to reward Watkins employees who help us bring top talent on board. Employees receive gifts and are eligible for a monetary bonus if their referral is hired as a Watkins employee.
Watkins shows appreciation to our longer term employees at our semi-annual Service Awards events. Employees who celebrate 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and even 35 years, are invited to attend the event in their honor where they receive a gift of gratitude and their contributions are recognized and shared across the organization.
Other perks and activities that we have made available to our employees include daily food trucks and food delivery, weekly Toastmasters® meetings, World Cup watch party, craft fairs, book fairs, weekly farm stand, and Fun Friday events.
